Dr.Oz 3 Day Cleanse Review

Other Cleanse Programs On The Market

I am not typically a huge fan of the cleanse programs that are out there.

The thought of taking pills that include stimulants or laxatives to induce your body to do a normal biological function just didn’t sit well with me. The food restrictive cleanses programs that insist that you only ingest a certain drink for a few days don’t make much sense to me either.

If food is our fuel, how are we supposed to get healthy without it?

Dr. Oz Recommended Cleanse

The cleanse program that I saw proposed on the Dr. Oz show was unlike others I had seen. The idea is to give your body all the vitamins and nutrients it needs to perform in peak condition. While doing this, your body isn’t getting any of the foods that most commonly cause difficulty.

It’s like pushing the reset button on your health.

For three days, you drink smoothies that are loaded with vegetables, fruits, protein and healthy fats. After that period is over and regular food gets integrated back into the daily routine, it is easier for you to identify which foods your body isn’t responding well too.

Are You Willing To Give This Cleanse A Try?

Couldn't Hurt To Give It A Try

When I first heard this cleanse introduced I had been feeling unreasonably tired for a few weeks, I was dealing with the remnants of a head cold that just wouldn’t go away completely and I was having some slight skin irritation with a rash.

I generally eat pretty healthy so I could find the obvious reason on why I was feeling this way. These minor discomforts and irritations were enough for me to give the good doctors cleanse a try.

Prepare Your System

It is suggested that anyone who is participating in the 3 day cleanse program prepare their body first.

This means to reduce or eliminate processed foods, alcohol, sugary drinks and any other obvious health busters.

Breakfast Smoothie

The breakfast has a medium thickness with a mostly prominent flavor of bananas and almond butter. You will certainly taste the rest of the ingredients; I just personally noticed those two the most.

This drink kept me satisfied for about 3 hours before I was reaching for the lunch smoothie.

Lunch Smoothie

This is the mother of all smoothies!

The lunch drink is packed with vegetables with a hint of fruit. After all of the ingredients are combined, the portion comes out to a little more than two full glasses worth.

This one is definitely the thickest of all the smoothies so I just grabbed a spoon.

There isn’t a really strong flavor but I did taste the cucumber and lime more prominently than the other ingredients. When the drink is served really cold, it’s actually quite refreshing.

Considering the sheer volume of this smoothie, I wasn’t hungry again until dinner time. I was completely full for 5 hours after this one. I postponed the snack smoothie that the program suggested until a few hours after dinner.

Dinner Smoothie

The dinner smoothie was a little different for me because it includes Cayenne Pepper and I am not usually a big fan of spicy foods. I realize that Cayenne Pepper has many health benefits so I was glad it was included but, it made me a little nervous at the same time.

It turned out that the flavor was mild with a slight spice after taste.

After all the ingredients were combined, this drink was the thin in consistency and it totally approximately 1 ½ glasses.

Feeding Your Body What It Needs To Get What You Want

Each one of these smoothies is unique, healthy and leaves you completely satisfied.

There may be an ingredient or two that you wouldn’t have chosen to incorporate in a typical daily smoothie but for this three day plan, they do the trick.

Detox Bath

The 3 day cleanse plan includes a nightly detox bath using Epsom Salt. Be prepared to pour right into bed afterward.

These are super relaxing and definitely help induce a peaceful night sleep. I may end every day this way.

It Works!

This program was beneficial for me and I certainly don’t regret trying it.

My head congestion was gone by day two which tells me it was probably a reaction to something I was eating instead of a cold as I originally thought. The skin irritation I was experiencing disappeared and I was left feeling lighter and more energized.
